Marianne was born in Malmö, Sweden to Johan and Wiola Pietiläinen (the children changed their name to Persäter but the parents kept the original) on January 21, 1947. She moved peacefully to her Heavenly home on July 24, 2026.
Marianne grew up in Luleå, Sweden. Her childhood was marked by the close Christian contact of Swedish Lapland. She completed a teaching degree and taught primary school for two years.
Marianne married Richard Paso on June 30th, 1973. They resided in Wilmington NC for 8 years and Brooklyn Park MN for the next 42. Marianne’s final years were spent in Battle Ground and Amboy WA.
She is survived by her husband Rick of Amboy WA, children Ulrika with Fredrik of Knivsta Sweden, Jacob with Carmen of Kalama WA, Kristofer of Trondheim Norway, Annica of Amboy WA, Kristina with Knut of Kiruna Sweden, and Rebecka with Michael of Battle Ground WA. She had 18 cherished grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, 6 siblings of which Gunnar Persäter preceded her in death, and a host of dear friends.
Marianne is remembered for quick wit, her love of children, and her deep and fierce love and caretaking of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Christianity in America. As a penitent sinner she leaves us with no doubt that she is in perfect glory with God.
