Pamela Helen (Lindsay) Poelvoorde was born April 1, 1952, in Vancouver, Washington, to Roy Jacob and Patricia Helen (Sly) Lindsay. She passed peacefully with family by her side on March 4, 2026.

Pam grew up on 50th Avenue in Vancouver on the family farm first homesteaded by her great-grandfather in 1862. She attended elementary school at the former one-room brick Pleasant Valley School, now a private residence, located at the corner of 50th Avenue and Salmon Creek Street. She later attended Battle Ground High School. Due to physical limitations in P.E. related to hip dysplasia, Pam was unable to complete high school at the time, but she later earned her GED through Clark College. Born with hip dysplasia, Pam spent much of her childhood in and out of Shriners Hospital undergoing corrective surgeries that ultimately allowed her to walk.

Pam married Larry, and together they welcomed two daughters, Amy (1971) and Angela (1974). She later married Duane Poelvoorde, joining his children, Patrick and Danielle, to the family. Pam and Duane celebrated 45 years of marriage in September 2025.

Throughout her life, Pam pursued education and professional growth. She earned her real estate license and mortgage broker licensing and later worked in property management. She spent countless hours studying industry law and was proud to represent the management companies she worked for in the courtroom. Pam was also very proud of her time serving as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer.

Pam loved caring for her yard, and it showed. She spent many hours pruning, weeding, mowing, and shopping for annuals and perennials to fill patio containers and garden beds. Her grass was always exceptionally green, as she never spared water to keep it lush. She also passed down the tradition of preserving and canning to her daughters, just as her mother had taught her. Although cooking wasn’t her favorite activity, she was a good cook, and many of her family recipes are still made generations later. Ice cream and cookies were always her favorite treats—especially chocolate peanut butter ice cream and chocolate chip cookies.

Pam had a beloved craft room filled with tools and materials for sewing, embroidery, crocheting, and countless other projects. She could make curtains, a dress, or a blouse if she had time. The room was filled with silk flowers, beads, glitter, and treasures collected over the years. She refinished furniture, tumbled glass for crafts, and created handmade wedding ring pillows for family members. It was a joyful place, especially during organized craft days with her grandchildren, who often went home with very glittery creations.

Pam also enjoyed visiting casinos, traveling in the motorhome to warmer destinations, and taking cruises to Alaska. She loved showing visiting friends and family local attractions, and guests were always welcome to stay in the spare bedroom for the weekend. Pam kept busy staying connected with family, keeping track of everyone’s activities through phone calls and text threads and sharing the news with others. She took great pride in supporting her loved ones in everything they pursued—scouts, sports, Jr. ROTC, 4-H, crafts, and many other adventures.

Family graveside services will be held at Manor–Wilson Bridge Cemetery.

The family welcomes those who wish to share memories of Pam at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St., Battle Ground, WA 98604, Thursday March 12th from 2:00–4:30 p.m. in the Moulton Falls Room.

Pam is survived by her husband of 45 years, Duane Poelvoorde; her children, Amy Gustin of Yacolt, Angela (Ryen) Bartley of Vancouver, Patrick Poelvoorde of Tacoma, and Danielle (Jeremy) Hall of Reno, Nevada; her brother, Roy (Kathy) J. Lindsay of Madison, South Dakota; and her sister, Kelly (Dee) Skillings of Battle Ground; as well as 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Patricia Lindsay.
