Mathew Joseph Hammon

Mathew Joseph Hammon, born September 27th, 1982, passed away by suicide on October 2nd, 2026.

Though he faced deep personal struggles, Mathew was a strong man actively fighting for his marriage, his family and his sobriety. Mathew worked hard as a commercial electrical foreman since joining the IBEW Local 48 in 2014 and previously worked as a journeyman electrician for several companies and as an owner operator from 2005-2013.Mathew recently gave his life to Christ, was baptized, and was doing the hard work to heal from both childhood trauma and the heavy burdens of serving three tours in Iraq with the U.S. Marines during the Battles in Fallujah including Operation Phantom Fury.

Mathew’s hobbies included hunting, coaching wrestling & football for his son, listening to podcasts, skiing, wakeboarding, MMA, lifting weights and spending time with his wife and kids. He was deeply loved by his wife Celeste Hammon whom he married 1/3/13 and their four young children; daughters Raymie 11yrs, Bridgette 10yrs & Iris 5yrs and son Uryah, 7yrs as well as step daughter Cambelle 20yrs and step son Challin 18yrs. He is also survived by his sister Leah Hammon and father & mother Lee & Robin Hammon.

We choose to remember his bravery, his new faith in Jesus, and the genuine steps he was taking toward restoration. Services will take place at 3pm on November 3rd at Church On The Rock, 500 SW Eaton Blvd, Battle Ground, WA 98604.
