Marilee was born March 27th, 1940 in rural Oregon. She passed away on January 11th, 2026 in Vancouver, Washington. She lived her entire life in Oregon, mostly in Hermiston / Pendleton area. She was employed in her early years as a meat wrapper in a local grocery store / butcher shop. She met Daniel Kelsey and was wed. Daniel was the love of her life. They moved to the Salem area where they worked in a manufacturing company building manufactured homes. They worked there for several years. They decided to go to truck diving school and when they passed their tests, they started long haul trucking as a tandem team for an excess of 20 years. At age 72, Marilee retired from truck driving, Daniel continued driving for several years. Dan and Marilee loved to travel, but they both had a great love for riding motorcycles. They both owned one and they did ride for several years. Marilee rode into her 80's. Marilee was a life time pet advocate and appreciated her many pets. Marilee moved to Amboy, Washington with her daughter, Tanya, and her husband after the death of Daniel. Marilee suffered Alzheimer's and Dementia. Her health diminished from that point on. Marilee was very excited when she rededicated her life to the Lord in 2021, at Crossroads Church in Vancouver, Washington.
Marilee was proceeded in death by her husband Daniel Kelsey, her granddaughter Tara Perkins, and her sister Elsa Brody. Marilee survived by her daughters Tina Newson from Portland, Oregon, Tanya Green from Amboy, Washington, her five grandchildren Brandon Green of Battle Ground, Washington, Christopher Green of Battle Ground, Washington, Andrea Green of Battle Ground, Washington, A.J Farnsworth of Goldendale, Washington. And sister Nancy McKague of La Grande, Oregon.
Service for Marilee will be Friday, January 23rd, 2026 at Layne's Funeral home.
