Harry Oren Brown

Harry was born to Harold Oren (Bud) Brown and Mary Ann (Peg) Brown on March 26,1953 in Vancouver, Washington. He passed in his home August 22,2026 at the age of 73. He grew up near Fargher Lake, lived in Hockinson, Amboy and Yacolt before residing in Vancouver prior to his death. He graduated from Battleground High School in 1971, and earned an Associate's Degree from Clark College in 1973.

Harry logged for a year with his parents at age 2l, before receiving his Master Electrician Certification, and was an electrician until he "got zapped one too many times." He then worked with his uncles, Gene Ferryman (Ferryman Enterprises), and David Ferryman (Al Furniture), learning framing, construction, and finish carpentry. Later he moved to Ariel Truss learning truss design and estimation.

Harry impacted the framing industry in Clark County, mentoring many, while running his own businesses; Mountain View Construction, North Clark Construction and Hilltop Construction. He built two homes for his family. Harry was a Construction Superintendent for John Fazzolari Custom Homes. In the last ten years he was Construction Superintendent for Urban NW Homes who specialize in custom homes. Buildings spoke to Harry through the soles of his feet. He could walk into a home and immediately tell if it was level, square, and plumb by walking across the floor.

He played baseball throughout his life, from Little League through Minors and seniors, high school and college teams. Later, playing on community teams for fun before turning to coaching his kids and grandkids baseball, softball and soccer teams. He enjoyed going to baseball and basketball games.

Some of his favorite past times were square and country dancing, attending country western concerts, water sports with family and friends, his fishing boat and traveling with his wife. An avid horseman and outdoorsman, he trained his first horse at age 12, and enjoyed trail riding, hunting, fishing and camping. Dogs and horses were always part of his life, Family was most important to him. Hel helped his father farm, and cared for both his parents in their final years. He was good friend who was always willing to help anyone at the drop of a hat. He didn't know how to retire, working right up until his passing.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen Brown, children Brian Brown and Leslie Brown; stepchildren Jessica Hefley, Chris Godwin, Robert Godwin and Janelle Williams. Grandchildren: Aiden Jennerjohn, Raydon Wallway, Mackenzie Hefley, Rylan Hefley, Kaden Hefley, Amayah Godwin, Soren Godwin, Neveah Godwin, Alexander Godwin, Deven Godwin, Jaylix Williams and Axel Williams; ex-wife Linda Poland, sister Arlene (Brown) Zimmerman, nephew Michael Zimmerman, niece Julie Zimmerman Hinkley (Jacques Hinkley) and numerous cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm at Manor Grange, 17901 NE 72nd Ave, Battleground, WA.
