Harriet Ethel Vaskelis

September 3, 1949 – July 15, 2025

Harriet Ethel Vaskelis arrived at her eternal home on July 15, 2025 at 9:15 p.m. in Vancouver, Washington, at the Ray Hickey Hospice House, where she completed her four-year battle with Pancreatic cancer. She was the beloved wife of Victor Vaskelis, who faithfully stayed by her side until the very end. Harriet and Victor were married on July 6, 1968, and were able to share their final 57th wedding anniversary together in the days leading to her passing. Harriet was born in Chester Pennsylvania in 1949 to Glenn and Sophie Smith. She relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 1975 with her husband Victor and her two young children. She was affectionately known for her warm smile and servant heart. She was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, giving, and unwavering faith in God. She was the type of person who would literally give you the shirt off of her back. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives who were touched by her. Harriet found her greatest joy in life by spending time with family and attending church, where she would sing in the choir and volunteer with the children in Sunday school. She was devoted to her church and family. She loved planting and growing flowers, canoeing, fishing with her husband, camping, baking, spending time at the beach and taking special trips with her children and grandchildren.

Harriet is survived by her loving daughters, Angie and Olivia, her faithful husband Victor, her sister Gwen, her cousin Kathy, her nine grandchildren (Courtney, Jocelyn, Emily, Jesse, Trinity, Abbie, Madison, Kendall, and Adeka), and her great grandchildren (Orian, Charlie, Henry, Elijah, Millie, Arden, Natalia).

She precedes in death her son Victor III, her parents Glenn and Sophie Smith, her sister Elanor, and her brother Glenny.
