Florence Evelyn Dooley, 89, of Salmon Creek, Washington, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, surrounded by her family and close friends.

Born on September 16, 1936, in Tioga, North Dakota, Florence was the daughter of Oscar and Ida Bergstrom. She grew up on the family farm alongside her brother, Clinton Bergstrom. After the passing of her mother in 1947, Florence stepped into the role of woman of the house at a young age. She carried countless treasured memories of her childhood in Tioga, where she learned the values of faith, hard work, and family. A proud cheerleader and graduate of Tioga High School’s Class of 1954, Florence maintained lifelong friendships with many of her classmates.

On September 20, 1954, Florence married the love of her life, Everett James Dooley. Together they built a life centered on love and family. They raised two sons, Rodney Dooley and Rodger Dooley, who were her greatest pride.

In 1957, Florence and Everett bought their home in Salmon Creek, Washington. Florence lived in that home for the rest of her life, filling it with warmth, laughter, photo albums, blooming flowers, the sound of country music, and the traditions that brought her family together.

Florence and Everett shared many beautiful years until Everett’s passing in 2000, a profound loss she carried with grace and quiet resilience. Her son Rodger, who inherited her determination and gentle spirit, passed away in 2012. Though she endured deep heartbreak, Florence honored their memories every day through the love she poured into her family and the traditions she kept alive.

Throughout her life, Florence dedicated herself to caring for others. She worked as a caretaker for multiple families, offering support, dignity, and kindness to those who depended on her. She also played an important role in her son Rodger’s piano‑tuning business for many years, proudly helping him pursue his craft.

A woman of deep faith, Florence was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she joyfully served her community. She especially loved preparing and serving coffee and donuts after services, an act of service through which she shared warmth and connection with others.

Florence treasured every holiday and celebration, always bringing joy to gatherings and keeping family traditions alive. She is survived by her son Rodney Lee Dooley, her three grandchildren Joshua, Sarah and Ryan Dooley, and her five great‑grandchildren, all of whom she adored and who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

The legacy Florence leaves behind is one of love, faith, resilience, and gentle kindness. Her memory will continue to live on in the stories she shared, the traditions she created, and the lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A service is planned and will be held on Saturday, March 28th, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, located at11005 NE Hwy 99, Vancouver, WA 98686.
