Dorothy Louise Lucas, age 88, of Oroville, California, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. Born on February 3, 1937, in Indian Valley, Idaho, Dorothy lived a life full of color, courage, and creativity. She spent many of her years working for the railroad, where she was known for her determination, humor, and genuine kindness. The rhythm of the trains mirrored her own steady heart — always moving forward, always connecting people and places with care.

Dorothy’s world was one of art, crafts, shopping adventures, and cherished social gatherings. She was known for her adventurous heart, her creative flair, and her unmatched sense of style — always adorned in beautiful jewelry and radiant smiles. She had the gift of gab and never met a stranger; Dorothy truly beat to her own drum, spreading warmth and laughter wherever she went.

She found beauty and meaning in the things she loved — angels that symbolized her faith and gentle grace, dolphins that embodied her joyful spirit, and flowers that captured her love for color and life itself. Her home was a haven of light and love, filled with trinkets and treasures that told the story of her vibrant soul. She always had a tale to tell and sweet moments to cherish.

Dorothy is welcomed into heaven by her dear mother Glydeth, her loving husband Luke and sweet sister Carol. She survived by her beloved brother Bill and sister-in-law Joanne, son Jim Mark, daughters Leslie Villanueva and Tracie Robertson, Multiple grandchildren, Travis, Dan, Cliff, Jenn, Sarah, Kim, Richard, Rachel, Victoria, Tracy, Michael. Great-grandchildren Aiden, Tristen, Jordan, Peyton, Cameron, Emily, Caasi, Lorelai, Rosalie, Ben, Clare, Lucas, Wade, Olivia, Ethan, Kendall, Athena, Artemis, Maple, Shavon, Talon, Peyton, Marlon , Zavier, Tracie, Kane, Major, Atticus, great-great-grandchildren Tahrique, Icarius, Thomas, and Berkley. Her most recent companion Hank and an abundance of dear friends and family who were deeply inspired by her strength, love, and unwavering individuality.

Dorothy’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Butte County Home Hospice, PeaceHealth Hospice, and the Ray Hickey Hospice House. The compassionate and dedicated staff provided unwavering care and support throughout her final months.
