Listen to Obituary

Dolores Marie Jundt, 94, of Vancouver, Washington passed away at home on June 9, 2026 surrounded by family. A dedicated wife, mother of 6, grandmother of 18, great grandmother of 27 and friend of many.

Raised on a small farm she often recalled special times like during one Christmas when she heard a knock on the door only to find a brand new bicycle sitting there just for her. Or one time during chores with her mother, collecting eggs when it was still dark out only to see many opossum eyes staring back at her. Her mother grabbed her by the hand and they ran back to the house in a panic.

At 19, she attended a dance hall event and met Dad. On their honeymoon, as a nervous bride, she forgot to bring the key for her suitcase, and as she tells it, Dad was her hero, making a key and getting the suitcase open, she knew she had married the right man. They celebrated 72 years of marriage with Dad passing away 4 days before their anniversary.

She often talked about the heart of the home being in the kitchen, which her mother instilled into her and she developed that in her own home as she raised us kids. This included many hours spent baking, canning and cooking all around yummy food. She excelled at tender nurturing, teaching us what was right from wrong, strong christian values, never allowing fighting in the home, kissing the smallest of boo boos, and threatening the belt when we acted spicy. She loved hosting extended family gatherings and holidays.

As her family grew with grandchildren and great grandchildren, moms lap was always open for snuggles, story times and naps. She cherished her times with all of us, celebrating our achievements with school events, first bike ride, catching the big fish, swimming, and roasting the best marshmallow. Moms pastimes and hobbies included ceramics, cake decorating, babysitting, sewing, crocheting, camping in the RV and shopping trips with girlfriends.

After raising all 6 kids in North Portland and realizing it was time to downsize, mom and dad moved to Battleground in 1999. During those years Mom enjoyed volunteering at her church, Sacred Heart, and cultivating strong friendships with other ladies and couples. They eventually moved in with their daughter Katherine and her husband George for their remaining years.

Mom was preceded by her brother Eugene in 2008, her son Larry in 2016, and her husband Ervin in 2022.

The funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1603 N Parkway Ave., Battleground, Washington on July 30, 2026 at 11:00AM, the Rosary will precede at 10:30AM.
