David Franklin Wesley, affectionately known as Dave, was born on December 6, 1938, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. He peacefully left this world on February 26, 2026, at his home in Battle Ground, Washington.

Throughout his life, Dave worked diligently at the Ford Motors company in Milpitas, California, in the Quality Control Department, until its closure in the mid-1980s. His commitment to his work exemplified his dedication to providing for his family, of which he was immensely proud.

Dave honorably served in the United States National Guard before enlisting in the US Air Force, a testament to his commitment to his country. His service was a source of pride, embodying the values of duty and dedication that he carried throughout his life.

Family was central to Dave’s existence. He often reminisced about cherished memories during family gatherings, ensuring that the bonds of love and connection remained strong. His children, Joellen Wesley-Barber and Deborah Wesley, as well as his granddaughter Jennifer Hooper and great-grandson Leo Hooper, were the lights of his life. The warmth of his heart shone through in simple yet profound gestures, such as making paper airplanes for Leo each time he visited.

Dave's passions extended beyond family, encompassing hobbies that brought him joy. He loved fishing, camping, gold panning, and scuba diving. He found pleasure in nature and adventure, but perhaps most importantly, he relished sharing stories and memories about his family. A talented artist at heart, he was known for drawing whimsical characters and faces on his cards and letters, leaving a personal touch that endeared him to others.

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Joellen Wesley-Barber and Deborah Wesley; granddaughter Jennifer Hooper; great-grandson Leo Hooper; brother Jack Wesley, and his wife Carol; as well as nephew Mike Wesley and his wife Sandy, along with great-nephews Aaron and Brandon Wesley.

Dave was predeceased by his father, Earl E. Wesley; mother, Gladys Mae Shamp; sister, Gretchen Marie Wesley; and his beloved wife, Carol Ann Wesley (Evans). The void left by his departure is felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

David Franklin Wesley’s legacy of love, hard work, and creativity will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be remembered not only for his dedication to his loved ones but also for the joy and laughter he brought into their lives.
