Charles Preston Jenkins III was born on November 29, 1953. Anxious to make his debut, he came into the world in the back of a police car in San Diego. His family later moved to 29 Palms where his Marine Father was stationed. Charlie later moved to San Luis Obispo where he joined the Air Force as a medical assistant. After his stint in the Air Force, he became an EMT, where his calm in crisis served him well.

He later moved to San Jose where he met his wife, Veva. They were married on September 29, 1990. In May 1994, they welcomed their son, Nathan.

Charlie started his "chapter two" as a special education teacher. Loved and admired by both his colleagues and students for his kindness and caring. He spent the last 24 years in the Evergreen Transition Program. Many felt he was the heart of transition.

Charlie was called home on September 15, 2026. As per his wishes, there will be no service. Those who would like to remember Charlie, are invited to make a contribution to either Toys for Tots or St. Jude Hospital for Children.
