It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Bonnie Jean Penrod, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother(GG) on February 20, 2026.
Bonnie was born in Dallas, Oregon and grew up in the Dallas-Salem area. She had a beautiful voice and as a child sang as much as possible, even singing on the radio. In 1952, she married her beloved husband, Leonard. Ironically her sister married Leonard's brother which meant that forever more their family get-togethers were loud, boisterous, and full of love and fun.
As a young couple they moved to Northern California and eventually settled in San Jose where they raised their four daughters.
She worked as a line supervisor for Memorex. After retiring to Sonora to be closer to one of her daughters and her family, she opened up a second hand clothing and costume store.
She and her husband spent many years being involved in their grandchildren's sports and school activities. In 2007, they made the decision to move back to the Pacific North West, settling in Battle Ground, Washington near their eldest daughter and husband. Many family get-togethers continued both here and in California.
Bonnie is predeceased by her husband of 66 years in 2018.
She is survived by her four daughters, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family. She was so proud of the life she and Leonard had built and of all their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
We will love you always mom and we know you are looking down on us smiling and saying "love you back".
Memorial Services will take place later this year in California.
