Billie Jean Zimmerly (Don't you dare call her Billie), Age 84, passed away on May 19, 2026, In Vancouver, Washington. Jean was born on October 18, 1941, in Murphy, North Carolina.
Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her strength, kindness, and unwavering faith.
One of her favorite sayings and guiding verses was, "I can do all things through him who strengthens me" — Philippians 4:13
Jean married the love of her life, Roy Zimmerly, at the age of 18 on July 25, 1960. Together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and love. At 19, Jean welcomed her son, Buddy into the world. She helped harvest on the Zimmerly family farm and later became a book keeper for Zimmerly construction. Eventually she would become partner alongside her son Buddy for Zimmerly Inc. Jean was known for her dedication to family and the people she loved.
She is survived by her son, Buddy Zimmerly; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Zimmerly; grandchildren, Phillip Zimmerly and Jessy Leach; siblings, Brenda Sleeper and Don Rich; as well as many cherished friends such as Jeans Gal Pals: Shirley, Louis, Debbie, and Cathy.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, John Lesley Rich and Willie Bell Rich; her husband, Roy Zimmerly; siblings, Lyle Lesley Rich and Dorthy Johnson; and sister-in-law, Brenda Rich.
A memorial service will be held on June 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. At Camas Church of the Nazarene. Address:2204 NE Birch St, Camas, WA 98607.
The service will be followed by a reception.
