Arlen Orres Wogen, 91, of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026.

Born on May 5, 1935, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Orville and Alice Wogen, Arlen grew up on a farm near Emmons, Minnesota. Although Arlen spent some time growing up in California, most of his youth was spent on the farm. Arlen loved to tell stories, especially about all the wild things he did with his two younger brothers, Jerome and Neal.

Arlen married the love of his life, Enid Rosella Lien, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Joice, Iowa, on August 28, 1955. After making a wonderful life and raising a family together, Arlen and Enid enjoyed traveling the world to explore intriguing destinations in their golden years. They shared almost 70 years together, until Enid passed away on July 5, 2025.

Having earned academic degrees in engineering and business, Arlen fulfilled a long and successful career in nuclear engineering, which took him to various parts of the nation. After Arlen served in the Army from 1955 until 1957, Arlen and Enid moved to California and settled in Fremont, California, where they raised their three children. Arlen and Enid then moved to Oregon and Washington, with brief sojourns to Louisiana, Illinois, and Wyoming.

Arlen will be remembered by his family and friends as a good and faithful servant. He was a devoted husband to Enid, always looking out for her well-being. As a father, Arlen was always present for his children, guiding them and supporting their development with unfailing kindness and patience. He loved the outdoors and imparted that love to all his children. Indeed, some of their fondest memories are of the many fun-filled family camping trips they shared together. Arlen also faithfully served the church of Jesus Christ with his many talents, which ranged from overall administration to building and maintenance. Surely, Arlen’s children need not fear death, as he has given them a small taste of what might be expected from a good and gracious Father.

Arlen is survived by his son Eldon (Melea) Wogen of Yacolt, WA; his daughter Elizabeth (Timothy) Myers of Cody, WY; and his son Randall (Rita) of Beaverton, OR; as well as seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Alice; his brothers, Jerome and Neal; his wife, Enid; his grandchildren April Wogen and Keith Wogen; and his great grandchild Laura Myers.
